I Finally Discovered Etsy!

I must admit, as a fashion blogger, fashion enthusiast and accessories obsessed, I should have known everything there is to know about Etsy but alas, that wasn’t the case. I had always heard about Etsy, recommended it to people looking for original accessories or clothes and even told my best friend to try it out and put her hand made jewelry on there. Yet, the first time I logged onto their page was two weeks ago when I finally discovered Etsy! I know, I know “How can you call yourself a fashion blogger and not know about Esty, ughh!” I guess it’s one of those things where I already roam the lands of many fashion websites stalking my next accessory prey that I didn’t think to look at ONE MORE. However, due to the magical kingdom that is Twitter, I came across these great hand made accessories by AVC Designs on Etsy.

I liked that the pieces from AVC Designs were simple but very original. I know you’re thinking “Um yea that’s the point of Esty, Captain Obvious” but hey, I’m a newbie who just discovered Etsy so cut me some slack here..lol Not only were the accessories really affordable and cute, but I thought they had this simple elegance that you can wear with jeans or a sexy dress for a night out.

I thought the “Esty” experience was supporting small designers and waiting for that lovely package in the mail. But it got even more impressive when I found the following with my package:

Hand written Thank You note from AVC Designs.

Now I don’t know if this is Etsy policy or something but I’m a huge fan of the hand written note. We so rarely hear a genuine “How are you?”, “Your welcome” and the ever elusive, almost disappearing “Thank You”. To see this note attached to my purchase was really like service with a smile but better. AVC took the time to write this in appreciation of my purchase/support of them and that to me makes me believe in customer service again.

So thanks to Twitter linking me to AVC Designs which then linked me to their site on Etsy, where I was able to have my first “Etsy experience”. I’m really happy I finally discovered Etsy and I’m proud to report I will definitely be checking it out more often. Although, I’m sure my husband and our budget won’t be so thrilled about it 😉
