My Totally Biased Top Looks From The 2013 Met Gala
After much anticipation I must say I was a little disappointed watching the Met Gala last night and as the lovely Heidi Klum said this season on Project Runway “I’m underwhelmed”. I read that people were having a hard time trying to understand the “Punk Couture” theme and it was obvious from A LOT of looks last night that some people were just completely off the mark. I don’t think throwing on some pink eye shadow or spikes in random places is the “Punk” theme they spoke of but then again, I wasn’t lucky enough to go. But I sure would’ve bumped it up a notch being allowed to have a license to “Punk” out for a night at a fancy event. I’ll be honest and tell you I picked these top looks because A) I thought they were elegant with a touch of “Punk” and B) because I like the celebrity..lol. Therefore, here is my totally biased top looks from the 2013 Met Gala.
Allison Williams from HBO’s “Girls” wearing Altuzarra. Love the show! See..biased already..lol
Amber Heard in Pucci. No punk but so so much glamour and class.
Giuliana Rancic in Falguni-Shane. I’m liking the detail and edgy feel to the sleek dress.
The Dior women. Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard. Love both these women for their great acting and classy looks. When I grow up I wanna be classy like Marion. *one day* 🙂
Emmy Rossum in Donna Karen Altelier. Beautiful gown with just enough punk up top.
Minka Kelly in Carolina Herrera. I adore this look! All the right elements to be at a gala with a touch of pink/purple color! Beautiful shoulder detail!
My favorite look of the night! The one that hit the nail on the head:
Jennifer Lopez in Michael Kors. YES YES YES! Daring gown, hit her in all the right places and the hair and make up is all punk. It’s just the right combination of glamour with punk for me.
As for the not so great looks….ummm well I’m sure you’ll be hearing about those everywhere else. Let’s just say grandma’s couch and curtains made an appearance..lol.
I loved these looks and the celebrities are women I have admired for sometime, so make no mistake this was a very biased list..lol. At least I’m honest right?
