I know the title says “Top 10 Fashion Picks” but I through in a few extras for Spring/Summer 2013. Besides “Top 13 Fashion Picks” just doesn’t sound as nice. February has been in a wave of Fashion Week shows from Paris, New York, DC, London etc and has us girls all ready to skip down the street in our best mint colored dresses, studded flats or printed pants. I wanted to be a little different from the pack and use some of my clothes and winter purchases as my version of top choices for S/S. They’re all pretty affordable and a mix of old with new. Goes to show that somewhere in your closet, there are new outfits waiting to be created out of old favorites. Check out my top picks for Spring/Summer 2013! Disclaimer: (No, my closet is not a Carrie Bradshaw closet *sad face*, but I pretend it is everyday…lol)
First off, the MUST HAVE pair of pumps. I saw these at the beginning of January and I was hooked! Teal pumps with metal trim on the back from Forever 21 for $27. BTW they are surprisingly comfortable! Lasted me 8 hours without a single inclining of discomfort.
Mint Colored Regent Square dress from Francesca’s for $44. This dress is adorable and fits very well. I’m a curvier girl and it zips up well where it needs to and room where I like it. I thought I was looking boxy then saw the model on the webpage and went “phew” not just me..lol This dress will be on permanent rotation!
What’s this? Mint colored dress with coral colored flats?! Um yeah!
Textured Metal Cuff from Loft for $20, got this last year and it’s always been one of my favorites. I know the thicker, heavier cuffs are very “in” for this season so this will work well with just about anything!
A little rhinestone love on an ankle strap flat from Forever 21 $24. These lovely coral colored flats will bring a little pop of fun to any outfit.
Nude pump! Since most of the outfits for spring will be light Easter’ish colors these nude pumps from Nine West $109 will work to bring a little balance to the bright on top 😉
My favorite outfit for s/s 2013! One of my must have outfits for trendy DC events or a dinner with the girls! This very on trend outfit cost a little over 100 bucks! Hyde Park pants from Francesca’s for $44, Loft 3/4 sleeve Tie Neck blouse $27, coral colored shell earrings from Old Navy $7, previously mentioned pumps $27, cutest puggle ever named Bradford, priceless!
In the color family of the light blue” Easter’ish” pallet, some interesting looking drop down earrings from a random kiosk in a mall near my home. Can’t remember the name of the place but I know I got’em for $5 bucks or so.
I don’t think these pieces will ever be off trend. Big, colorful rings! I’ve collected these over the years of traveling from South Korea to Medellin, Colombia and never cost more than 10 bucks!
As mentioned earlier, coral colored shell earrings from Old Navy $7 and metal plate earrings with navy and teal colors from Target for $10. Both of these pairs work well to dress them up or down and always an eye catcher 😉
I got these scarves from a street vendor in Seoul, South Korea almost two years ago. These colors are the “go to” pallet this year so they will be in great use for those impromptu chilly days DC loves to grace us with everyone once in a while.
I wasn’t really into buying boyfriend pants this year but I decided to give’em a chance. UMMMM best comfy jeans purchase ever! From Old Navy for $24. These are great for a Saturday morning at the dog park or a stroll on the National Mall. These look great with those rhinestone flats or wedged sandals. Why isn’t the warm weather here yet?
My “Statement” necklace! From the same kiosk I got the light blue drop down earrings the Cleopatra necklace! I made the name up for this piece because it’s pretty bold and something that draws focus to the chest and collar bone. You can wear this with a linen white dress and sandals or a LBD and let the necklace do the talking 😉 Price $20 NO LIE!
